The Enrollment & Matching Specialist is responsible for guiding applicants through enrollment, coordinating required documentation and interviews, maintaining an accurate pipeline of youth and volunteers, and supporting the creation of thoughtful, well-prepared matches.

This is not a sales role or a general administrative role. It is a mission-critical program position that helps turn interest into action and possibility into relationship.

What You’ll Do

The Enrollment & Matching Specialist will:

  • Guide youth, families, and volunteer applicants through the enrollment process
  • Coordinate applications, interviews, documentation, references, and screening steps
  • Maintain accurate records and applicant status updates in agency systems
  • Help determine when youth and volunteers are ready to be matched
  • Maintain the Ready-to-Be-Matched pipeline
  • Identify strong potential matches based on interests, needs, availability, geography, and program standards
  • Coordinate match meetings and prepare participants for a successful start
  • Complete a clear handoff to program staff who provide ongoing Match Support
  • Communicate with applicants in a warm, timely, and professional way
  • Track bottlenecks and help improve the enrollment and matching process

Who We’re Looking For

A strong candidate will bring:

  • Excellent organization and follow-through
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good judgment and professional boundaries
  • Comfort speaking with youth, parents/guardians, and adult volunteers
  • Ability to manage multiple applicants and deadlines at once
  • Careful attention to documentation and details
  • Commitment to youth development, equity, and community impact
  • Ability to use databases, spreadsheets, email, and basic digital tools
  • Experience in nonprofit, education, youth development, human services, volunteer coordination, case management, or related work

A bachelor’s degree is welcome but not required if the candidate brings strong relevant experience, judgment, and demonstrated ability to manage a structured process.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means that applicants know where they stand, records are accurate, youth and volunteers move through the process without unnecessary delay, strong matches are thoughtfully prepared, and every new match begins with clear expectations and a complete handoff to ongoing support.

Compensation and Benefits
